Right on the heels of the rumors that the Kojima Productions studio in Los Angeles is closing down, rumblings of a new Metal Gear Solid title beginning development began to surface. Originally reported by the folks over at Kotaku, an interview with Nikkei reveals the following:
“When we start development, a large-scale investment will become necessary.”
Whether or not Kojima will be involved has yet to be mentioned, but with the trouble and strange happenings reported towards the end of Phantom Pain’s development, I wouldn’t put my money on it. On the plus side, if Konami needs a large investment to begin development of the new game, that would lead me to think that it won’t be a pachinko machine.
Until this is officially confirmed by Konami, this should of course be taken as just rumor. Still, this is another interesting developing story involving Konami!
Dashing Nerds will bring you any updates, as they are released!
