After rumors about the third generation of Pokemon, a PoGo code and artwork leak for the next game event confirmed some exciting news! Generation 3 (Ruby & Sapphire) Ghost Pokemon are coming this Halloween.
Niantic has not yet made an official statement, but the artwork included the following new Pokemon:
UPDATE: Niantic has released an official release date and the trailer below following the leak:
HALLOWEEN POGO EVENT DATES:
Oct. 20 at 12:00 P.M. (PDT) – November 2 at 1:00 P.M. (PDT)
Niantic also confirmed double trouble this Halloween! See the official statement below:
“…Candy rewards from catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon will be doubled, and your buddy will find Candy twice as fast during the Halloween celebration! Last but not least, you’ll have the opportunity to stock up for your upcoming adventures with special boxes from the in-game shop, featuring items such as Raid Passes and Super Incubators.” – Official Release (10/19)
Save up your coins now! We can’t wait to get our hands on more Super Incubators, which reduce your walking distance by 1/3!
New Ghost Pokemon (Generation 3) & Double Candy!
- Bannette (Max CP: 2138)*
- Dusclops (Max CP: 1593)*
- Sableye (Max CP: 1472)*
- Shuppet (Max CP: 1030)*
What else might the Halloween event have in store for us? Last year, PoGo players were treated to double the candy for evolving and hatching Pokemon, and 4x as many candies for walking their buddy. We can also look forward to the increased spawn rates of Gen 1 & 2 Ghost Pokemon, including Gengar, Misdreavus, Haunter, and Gastly. The new artwork also features a Halloween version of the most festive mascot, Pikachu (see top photo)!
Still Need Entei & Suicune? Find Raid Buddies
Having a hard time taking down those Legendary Raid Bosses? It might be time to go social by signing up for your local POGO Facebook or Discord group. Remember, the Legendary Dogs have a limited release—Entei will only be here until the end of October. Depending on your level, it can take anywhere from 5-10 players to take down one of these bad boys. It’s hard to run into that many POGO players if you live in a more remote area, which makes high-level raids impossible. Dashing Nerds regularly contributes to the Metro Detroit area Discord & Facebook groups! If you live in Michigan and would like help coordinating a raid, send us a message on the Contact page and we’ll recommend a group for you to join.
