It was revealed today that the author who penned the Potter series will release the script to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I and II in book form by popular demand. This will make it much easier for the fans that can’t make the trip to London to see the stage play to know what really goes down. Set 19 years after the battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child dives into the adult lives of Harry, Ron, and Hermione and how Harry’s son deals with having a legend for a father. Not much else is known about the story line, as not to ruin the play.
Along with the release of the script, Rowling plans to release revamped versions of the Hogwarts school books Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages, which first hit store shelves in 2001. These releases, which will continue to roll out through 2019, are set to coincide with the new theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander the Magizoologist.
Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, as a Harry Potter revival would surely be received with open arms. Until then, I’m sure Potterheads will make due with the script release and much anticipated feature film.
