Toonami has announced that they will air the English dub of Dragon Ball Super starting on Saturday January 7th 2017 at 11:30 PM.
Toonami, which started as an action animation block back in the glory days of 1997, has had off and on again stints as the late-night anime time slot for Cartoon Network and at one time Kids WB. In 1999 they began to feature many popular anime such as Speed Racer, Voltron, Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Z quickly became Toonami’s most popular show and a staple for many of our childhoods.
We are super excited that Dragon Ball Super will hit cable TV instead of going the route of subscription only services ala Crunchy Roll or Hulu (Japanese sub already on Crunchy Roll). Recently we got to interview some of the voices of Dragon Ball Super, Monica Rial who voices Bulma and Ian Sinclair, the voice of Whis. Check out the links below for the interviews!
